Lewis Capaldi Cancels All Tour Dates to Focus on Mental and Physical Health
Scottish singer-songwriter Lewis Capaldi has canceled all of his upcoming tour dates in order to focus on his mental and physical health. The announcement came in a statement on Capaldi’s social media accounts, in which he said that he had been struggling with his mental health for some time.
“I’ve been struggling a lot with my mental health recently,” Capaldi wrote. “I’ve been having panic attacks and really struggling to cope with day-to-day life. I’ve tried to push through, but it’s become clear that I need to take some time off to focus on my health.”
Capaldi also said that he was struggling with the impact of living with Tourette syndrome, a neurological disorder that can cause involuntary movements and vocalizations. “I’m still learning to adjust to the impact of Tourette’s,” he wrote. “It’s been really tough, and it’s been making it difficult for me to perform.”
Capaldi’s decision to cancel his tour dates has been met with understanding and support from fans. “I’m so sorry to have to do this,” he wrote. “I love performing, and I hate letting people down. But I know that this is the right thing for me to do right now.”
Capaldi’s fans have been sending him messages of support on social media. “Take care of yourself, Lewis,” one fan wrote. “We’ll be here waiting for you when you’re ready to come back.”
“Your health is the most important thing,” another fan wrote. “We love you, and we’ll support you no matter what.”
Capaldi has not yet announced when he will resume touring. However, he said in his statement that he is “committed to getting better” and that he hopes to be back on stage soon.
In the meantime, Capaldi’s fans are wishing him all the best for his recovery.
