Daniel Radcliffe Finally Addresses Possible Involvement in ‘Harry Potter’ Series Reboot
Daniel Radcliffe, who starred as Harry Potter in the eight-film franchise, has spoken out about the possibility of appearing in the upcoming Harry Potter series reboot. In an interview with ComicBook.com, Radcliffe said that he is “definitely not seeking out” a role in the reboot.
“My understanding is that they’re trying to start very fresh, and I’m sure whoever is making them will want to make their own mark on it and probably not want to have to figure out how to get old Harry to cameo in this somewhere,” Radcliffe said. “So, I’m definitely not seeking it out in any way. But I do wish them, obviously, all the luck in the world, and I’m very excited to have that torch passed. But I don’t think it needs me to physically pass it.”
The Harry Potter series reboot is being developed for HBO Max and is said to be a full reboot of the property, rather than a continuation of the film franchise. The series is expected to draw from the beloved books by J.K. Rowling, and each season will reportedly adapt one of the books.
While Radcliffe is unlikely to appear in the reboot, he is still excited about the project and wishes the creators all the best. “I’m very excited to see what they do with it,” he said. “I think it’s a great opportunity to explore the world of Harry Potter in a new way.”
