‘The Continental’s Director Isn’t Sure If the ‘John Wick’ Prequel Will Have More Seasons

KISS | July 25, 2023

The director of The Continental, Albert Hughes, has said that he is not sure if the John Wick prequel will have more seasons.

The Continental is a three-part miniseries that premiered on Peacock on September 22, 2023. The show is set in the world of the John Wick films and tells the story of Winston Scott, the manager of The Continental, a hotel for assassins.

Hughes told Collider that he is “not sure” if The Continental will be renewed for a second season. He said that the decision will depend on how the show is received by audiences.

“We’ll see how it goes,” Hughes said. “We’re really happy with the show. We think it’s a great show. But we’ll see how it’s received and then we’ll make a decision.”

If The Continental is renewed for a second season, it would likely focus on a different character from the John Wick universe. Hughes said that he would like to see the show explore “different corners of the world” and “different characters.”

“There’s a lot of potential there,” Hughes said. “We’re just excited to see how it’s received and then we’ll go from there.”

The Continental has received positive reviews from critics. The show has a 78% approval rating on Rotten Tomatoes.

Only time will tell if The Continental will be renewed for a second season. However, the show’s positive reception and the potential for new stories make it a possibility.
