BTS’ Suga officially begins military enlistment process
South Korean rapper and BTS member Suga has officially begun the process of enlisting in the military. The 29-year-old artist, whose real name is Min Yoongi, announced his decision to enlist on August 7, 2023.
Suga will be serving as a social service agent, rather than an active-duty soldier. This is because he underwent surgery on his left shoulder in 2013. Social service agents perform non-combat roles in the military, such as working in hospitals, schools, or government offices.
Suga’s enlistment is a significant moment for BTS, as he is the third member of the group to enlist. Jin and J-Hope both enlisted in 2022, and RM, Jimin, and V are expected to enlist in the coming years.
Despite his enlistment, Suga will continue to be involved in BTS’s activities. He will be working on music and producing for the group while he is serving in the military.
Suga’s fans have expressed their support for his decision to enlist. They have taken to social media to share messages of love and appreciation for the artist.
Suga’s enlistment is a reminder of the importance of military service in South Korea. All able-bodied men in the country are required to serve in the military for a period of two years. Suga’s decision to enlist is a sign of his patriotism and his commitment to his country.
We wish Suga all the best during his military service. We know that he will continue to be a valuable member of BTS, even while he is away.
