Ed Sheeran Calls AI “Weird”
In a recent interview, Ed Sheeran expressed his doubts about the use of artificial intelligence (AI) in Hollywood. The Grammy-winning singer said that he finds AI “weird” and that he doesn’t understand why it’s necessary.
“What I don’t understand about AI is like, for the last 60 years, Hollywood movies have been telling you, ‘Don’t do it,'” Sheeran said. “And now everyone’s doing it. Have you not seen the movies where they kill us all?”
Sheeran also expressed concern about the impact of AI on jobs. He said that he believes AI will eventually lead to the loss of many jobs in the entertainment industry.
“The whole point of society is we all do jobs,” Sheeran said. “If everything is done by robots, everybody’s gonna be out of work.”
Sheeran’s comments are not the first time that a celebrity has expressed concerns about AI. In 2019, actor Will Smith said that he believes AI is “the biggest threat to humanity.” And in 2020, actress Scarlett Johansson said that she is “terrified” of AI.
It remains to be seen whether Sheeran’s concerns about AI are justified. However, his comments have sparked a debate about the potential risks and benefits of this technology.
In addition to his concerns about AI, Sheeran also spoke about his love for music and his desire to continue making music for as long as possible.
“I just want to keep making music,” Sheeran said. “I want to be the oldest guy in the world still making music.”
Sheeran is currently on tour in support of his latest album, “=”. The tour is scheduled to run through July 2023.
