‘The creative juices weren’t flowing!’ Calvin Harris grew ‘tired’ of playing Las Vegas shows
Calvin Harris is one of the biggest DJs in the world, and he has played some of the biggest shows in the world. But in 2019, he decided to step away from his Las Vegas residency.
In an interview with Radio 2’s ‘Tracks Of My Years’, Harris said that he grew “tired” of playing weekly shows in Las Vegas. He said that it “zapped” his “creative juices” and he wasn’t able to make any new songs for a year and a half.
“I was there at least every week, playing,” Harris said. “It got to the point where I was there a little too much. I got tired of it.”
Harris said that he realized that he needed to take a break from Las Vegas in order to recharge and get his creative juices flowing again. He said that he’s since been able to make new music and he’s excited to get back on the road and perform again.
“One million per cent,” Harris said when asked if his residency in Las Vegas curbed his creativity. “It was unreal. No tunes were being made.”
Harris’ experience in Las Vegas is a reminder that even the biggest stars need to take breaks sometimes. When you’re constantly on the go, it can be hard to find time to be creative. But when you do take a break, it can be incredibly refreshing and inspiring.
Harris is now back to making music and performing, and he’s showing no signs of slowing down. He’s still one of the biggest DJs in the world, and he’s sure to continue to entertain fans for years to come.
