The Office Buddies Are Back! Steve Carell and John Krasinski Reunite for Animated Flick “IF”

KISS | April 25, 2024

Alert the Scranton branch! Our favourite Dunder Mifflin duo, Steve Carell and John Krasinski
are back together in a new movie, and it’s not what you’d expect.
Krasinski, fresh off directing the super quiet (get it?) “A Quiet Place” movies, is stepping
behind the camera again for an animated flick called “IF.” And who’s lending his voice
talents? None other than his former on-screen boss, Michael Scott himself, Steve Carell!
Here’s the deal: “IF” dives into the world of imaginary friends, those childhood companions
that vanish as we grow up. The movie follows a young girl named Bea who can still see her
IF, a blue creature voiced by Carell (because who else could it be?). Together, they embark
on a quest to reconnect forgotten IFs with new kids who need a little imaginary friend magic
in their lives.
This reunion is pure gold for fans of “The Office.” Remember the will-they-won’t-they tension
between Jim and Pam (Krasinski and Jenna Fischer’s characters)? Well, this time around,
Krasinski gets to be the boss (of the movie, at least) while Carell brings his signature
comedic charm to the role of a quirky imaginary friend.
It’s not all nostalgia, though. “IF” sounds like a heartwarming story about the power of
friendship and imagination, perfect for both grown-up kids (a.k.a. us) and actual kids (who
might be a little confused as to why their parents are laughing so hard at a blue cartoon
blob).
There’s no official release date yet, but with this dream team of Krasinski directing and Carell
voicing, “IF” is already generating major buzz. So, keep an eye out for this animated
adventure – it’s bound to be a trip down memory lane for “Office” fans and a delightful

discovery for everyone else. Just don’t expect any beet-related shenanigans this time
around.
