John Woo Unleashes Doves and Bullets: Nathalie Emmanuel Takes Center Stage in “The Killer” Remake Trailer

KISS | July 17, 2024

Get ready for a stylish and explosive return to action! The official trailer for John Woo’s highly anticipated remake of his 1989 classic, “The Killer,” has dropped, and it promises a thrilling ride filled with Woo’s signature slow-motion gun battles, white doves soaring in ballets of violence, and plenty of acrobatic action.

This time around, the iconic assassin known only as “The Killer” gets a makeover. Stepping into the role previously played by Chow Yun-fat is the fierce Nathalie Emmanuel (“Fast & Furious” franchise, “Game of Thrones”). Emmanuel embodies Zee, a mysterious and deadly contract killer who finds herself on the run after refusing a hit on a young woman.

The trailer is a non-stop barrage of action sequences, showcasing Emmanuel’s impressive physicality and gun-wielding skills. Woo’s signature visual style is on full display, with balletic shootouts, dramatic slow-motion, and explosive action choreography.

Joining Emmanuel is an impressive cast, including Omar Sy (“Lupin”) as the detective hot on Zee’s trail, Sam Worthington (“Avatar”) as her possibly shady handler, and Diana Silvers (“Little Women”) as the woman whose life Zee refuses to take.

This new “The Killer” promises to be a fresh take on Woo’s original masterpiece, with a strong female lead and a modern setting. With Woo back at the helm, fans can expect a thrilling and visually stunning action experience.
