Margot Robbie to Produce ‘The Sims’ Movie Adaptation, Promising Iconic Game Lore and Fan-Favorite Moments

KISS | September 19, 2024

Margot Robbie’s production company, LuckyChap Entertainment, has officially confirmed that it will produce a movie adaptation of “The Sims.” This announcement comes after the success of their “Barbie” film.

The adaptation is a collaboration between LuckyChap, Electronic Arts (EA), and Amazon MGM Studios. The movie will be directed by Kate Herron, known for her work on Disney+’s “Loki,” and co-written with Briony Redman. EA has promised that the film will stay true to “The Sims” universe, including iconic elements such as “lore,” Freezer Bunnies, and even pools without ladders, which fans of the game will recognize as a humorous nod to its history.

The goal is to create an experience that resonates with the vast and nostalgic community of “The Sims” players, with updates on the film expected in 2025 when the game celebrates its 25th anniversary
