Netflix Confirms Live-Action ‘Scooby-Doo’ Series

Netflix has officially announced a live-action Scooby-Doo series, set to bring Mystery Inc. back
to life in an all-new adaptation. Produced by Greg Berlanti (Riverdale, The Flash), the
eight-episode series will reimagine how Shaggy, Daphne, Velma, and Fred first met and formed
their famous mystery-solving team. The show will take place at a summer camp, where Shaggy
and Daphne team up with Velma, a science-savvy local, and Fred, a mysterious new kid.
Together, they investigate a ghostly case involving a lonely Great Dane puppy—Scooby-Doo
himself—who may have witnessed a supernatural murder. Netflix’s announcement, featuring a
teaser image of the script, has already sparked excitement and speculation among fans. Peter
Friedlander, VP of Netflix’s scripted series, expressed enthusiasm, saying, “The beloved
franchise has had an undeniable impact on pop culture. We’re committed to bringing a fresh,
groovy adventure to a new generation of meddling kids.”While the series aims to honor the
classic cartoon, some fans are wary of modern reimaginings. Given recent controversies over
other live-action adaptations, such as Snow White, all eyes will be on Netflix to see if this new
take on Scooby-Doo will capture the magic of the original.
